Gaza and West Bank Interim Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment - February 2025
The Interim Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (IRDNA), conducted jointly by the United Nations, European Union, and World Bank, provides a comprehensive evaluation of the destruction, economic losses, and recovery needs in Gaza and the West Bank after 15 months of conflict. The assessment estimates $53.2 billion is required for recovery and reconstruction over the next decade, with $20 billion needed in the first three years to restore essential services, rebuild infrastructure, and support economic recovery. The IRDNA highlights severe damage across key sectors, including housing, health, education, commerce, and agriculture, with over 292,000 homes destroyed or damaged, 95% of hospitals non-functional, and an 83% economic contraction in Gaza. It also stresses the need for a coordinated international response, ensuring that recovery efforts contribute to long-term stability, resilience, and a sustainable future for Gaza and the region., filtered_html
