Supporting public safety as COVID-19 response through handwashing units in Bethlehem governorate

UN-Habitat Palestine in partnership with #Alwaleed Philanthropies and in coordination with Bethlehem Governorate led an innovative approach to promoting personal hygiene and safety in public spaces in Bethlehem governorate. In partnership with Bethlehem, Beit Sahour, Beit Jala and Al-Doha municipalities, as well as the Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ), 23 #handwashing_units were manufactured and installed in public spaces of these four targeted cities. The units provide the public with safe and open-access for handwashing as a means to promote public hygiene to reduce the transmission of #COVID_19 in public spaces.
